Porch/mud room on the left. Kitchen/dining room in the middle. Living room and bedroom on the right. It was on this living room wall that Uncle Ralph had a framed lithograph of of "The Pharaoh's Horses" that I recall today, and whetted my appetite for Arabian horses.
This is all that is left of the home on Uncle Ralph and Aunt Marge's homestead in North Dakota, where I spent a large portion of my early life in the 60's. Uncle Ralph was my father's oldest brother. There was no plumbing or running water, but a hand pump was in the kitchen where the coldest, iron laden water in the world could be pumped. There was a "two seater" out house about 30 yards to the left of the house in the top photo, which was used unless it was raining or snowing. Then the children used a "slop bucket" which was under the kitchen sink.

Then you must know about the
shiny pages (the last ones to
go in the Monkey Ward book)
The farm I started on only
had a single seater with a
BIG hole for a little kid
Eatontown 3 0446 W2 was our
party line (why do I remember)
Only wish I could remember
important stuff
By the way I had a real colt
(and a cat turtle and chicken)
