I went to the elephant nature park in Thailand last year. Although i dont want to knock the work they do (rescuing elephants from all over the country) their handling methods need work. While I was there one girl was even attacked by a cow!
They would critise zoos a lot, but the park gets people to pay to enter, feed and bathe the elephants, and the keepers even do 'tricks' for the public.
