i admit i have no idea how any animal is trained -- is this an accurate account or a journalistic interpretation?

Yes it is fairly accurate and was written from interview notes. Not much to interpret as it speaks for it's self. Today is a new day is the proper interpretation.

It is very interesting stuff from one of the old masters but as we progress in life in general alot of things get outmoded. But its great stuff.
