A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade,
Who is holding the hind leg stand?
Radar,
I don't know. Why?

This is a great display. I was curious if Gunther was working her or just styling, as he is empty handed.
Radar,
Of course he was working her. That is even odd that you would think different. He had to be empty handed much of the time as he did mounts. He would lay the hook, whoops, ankus down or toss it to Piccolo or one of the other guys and they would toss it back when he was back on the ground or needed it again. He also didn't have a hook when he did the teeterboard. You don't always need it.
Wade
Thank you Wade.
