A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Thank you Mary Ann!!
if it wasn't for this blog I would not know how much I dug the bullfight
Rebecca
Rebecca, my pleasure. Those Ordonez guys are really easy on the eyes, aren't they?
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
What are you saying? Have we forgotten it is about machismo, bravado, and skill? It has nothing to do with "cute and charming."
Wade
Mary Ann,
They are "cutish", however my favorite bullfighter guy is El Cordobes(?)
I hope I am spelling his name right.El Cordobes just oozed this incredibleness and I felt he so understood everything about the bull..annnd I really liked his movement, his intensity and he looked smashing in pink
To me these Ordonez guys are children I am not dismissing them at all, they are amazing and brother saving brother is ...so great .
Rebecca
Rebecca, I looked at past posts of El Cordobes, and I see what you are saying. However, every profession needs new blood. I think that of the Ordonez brothers, Francisco is already a master but I would be afraid for Cayetano getting seriously injured. I know that this cougar is too old for those darlings, but I still like to look at them, especially Francisco who has softer features.
Mary Ann
Ladies,
There is a reason that El Cordobes was called "the Elvis Presley of the Bull Ring." And I don't think anyone has replaced Elvis yet, or El Cordobes. Him kneeling in the center of the plaza, with his arms spread, chest out(as in a crucifixion) as the toro entered and ran across the sand at him, only to be send past at the last moment by Benito's twisted torso was something special.
Wade
Wade, I did notice in looking at past posts of El Cordobes, in watching the videos, his quickness and agility were reminiscent of yours in the video of the 116th Edition of The Greatest Show on Earth. Could you post any videos of Francisco Rivera Ordonez in the ring please?
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
I admired greatly folks like Roy Rogers, El Cordobes, Gunther Gebel for their grace and way of moving. There was a feline stealth about them. A very masculine femininity. The difference in fighting with a broad sword, slamming, bamming, crashing, and overpowering with brute force. Or a Samurai with a Katana, slicing so quick and with such precision, grace, and quickness that his opponent is dead, before it registers in his mind. Bruce Lee has always fascinated me more then Mike Tyson.
Wade
Wade,
so you agree with me ???you can admit it,it's ok . I won't lose respect for you. In fact perhaps I will respect you more..
Rebecca
