We have looked at "pro" garbage, now let's look at "anti" garbage.

As shocking and as untrue statements made by Great British Circus spokesman Chris Baltrop in regards to their new elephant act not using whips and hooks were, what is even more shocking and untrue are the statements made in these two videos. Just unbelievable that a news show would do such a biased one sided story. Of particular contempt, and this should illustrate how untrue the charges are. the male newscaster makes sure that the world knows "there is other footage" that is so bad they could not show it on tv. Give me a break. We have looked at visions of war, and genocide on the evening news, as we need the shock and horror. They have nothing, and realizing what was shown was nothing, man made an effort to insinuate. What a cheap piece of shit that remark was. The exact opposite of " he doesn't use anything, just his voice, and they are like dogs" cheap piece of shit from Mr. Baltrop. There is nothing here, and any body that thinks they see abuse had better not snatch there horse when he attempts to spook, or raise your voice to you dog. That is the equivelent to what is on these tapes. The only true statement was that it cost's over 60,000.00 a year to maintain one elephant.

Rebecca,
As you requested: "Feld Entertainment Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Feld said the circus probably couldn't have elephants without the prods — called bull hooks — and chains that are at the center of a trial in U.S. District Court. He said the prods and restraints are needed to protect the safety of his staff and the public.
He said he's seen handlers hit elephants under the chin, behind the ears or on the legs with a bull hook — which resembles a thick fireplace poker with a curved metal hook — describing it as a standard practice to "correct" or "guide" the animals. "I don't view what I've seen as abuse," he said."

That Rebecca is 100% fact, not one shred of garbage. Don't forget until recently,(and you have been in the circus, and around elephant's, how long?) you didn't realize that an ankus/bull hook has been used for 100's of years exclusively for working elephants, just as spur's have been used for 1000's of years for working horses. That is how very, very, very little most people, who have not taken the time to learn know about animal training. I wonder how many horse trainers would be sympathetic to our plight, if there was a ban on having spurs. Our greatest problem is our "public image."
