Death of Brutus--1898 Woodprint from my collection

Note the meat fork on the right side of this print. It is a standard fork used for feeding meet, and is seen in many old prints/lithographs. I wonder if it was the inspiration for the arena fork that is used in Europe and England, with a different design adaptation.

Mary Ann,
I have loved zoo/animal history most of my life. It has been such a changing world, since the day's of the early menageries. Truly fascinating.

Wade, one of my favorite things from your collection that you posted was "Grief of the Pasha", which you posted on Friday May 16.
