A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

from Jim Stockley:
Hello Wade, This is Alexandra Bormann(nee Pauwels), wife of Erik Bormann. You posted some pictures of Erik's tiger act a little while ago (with Alexandra assisting him in the cage when he does the handstand). She is also a very talented juggler. Her parents have Cirque Pauwels in Belgium. Her grandfather, Pepet Pauwels, was a famous clown (one of the few that made me laugh ;-)
Apparently there are some horses in these photos.
Jim,
The bay horse looks familiar like I have seen it be for being ridden by a chap with a head scarf, doing a "gypsy"deal with a girl. I wonder if it was the same folks.
The tiger act pictures sure look good, but I wonder what is gained, by having someone come in to do the "leg jump."
Is it their show, or his families show?
Wade
from Jim Stockley: I think it's safe to say that Erik is the "heir apparent" to the Diana Moreno - Rex Bormann outfit. I have to confess a fondness for Alexandra, my wife is her Godmother ;-)
Jim,
Just looking at these pictures, they sure have two great animal acts, in the cage and horse acts. I so love when I see something like that.
Wade
