Actually, mother of David and Suzanne. The lady in the photo is Mary Chipperfield, otherwise Mrs. Roger Cawley.

You are correct of course. Thank you. I think given prominence and achievement, technically David and Suzanne are the children of Mary, as opposed to the recent "mother of David and Suzanne" phenomena.

MARY CHIPPERFIELD was one of the few `names` the general public knew from television documentaries regarding LONGLEAT SAFARI PARK, started by her father Jimmy Chipperfield and her wide ranging animal acts and film involvement. She also brought to England in 1972 CIRCUS ENIS TOGNI an impressive set up but with her own animal acts but 12 Italian Liberty Horses. The general public were perhaps not as cosmoplitan those days so the show only toured for one season. Otherwise it was an ideal opportunity as it was the first year BILLY SMART`S CIRCUS did not tour. Mary Chipperfield`s Circus was revived for short seasons in 1974 and in a much smaller format later on. I was an avid circus fan for many years and defended the shows writing to papers and local councils etc. I last went to a circus with animals 20 years ago, the disillusionment had set in. No one person did more to end traditional circus in the UK than Mary but she was the public scapegoat for circus community. I am very interested in the blogs as visiting shows was my main interest for so many years.
