WHY DO THEY NEED TO BRAND THE ANIMALS

We have feature a number of links on elephant brands. When you say "they" are you referring to the safari park where these elephants perform at? "They" didn't brand them, they were branded when they were young by the logging company that owned them prior. Branding, like the branding of cattle is a way to identify ownership of animals as they roam together, or should they wander into a different logging camp.
