Simon De Winter's Circus blog

www.circusdays.be

This is really a great site that Simon has. Some of the nicest circus pictures on the web. Of particular interest is the "back yard scenes" like these above. Most of the Circus sites deal with the performance, which is such a very small part of the whole day. A vast majority of sites in Europe deal with the tents and equipment, and the "back yard scenes" for the most part make the circus lot look like a ghost town. There is never anybody around taking care of the animals or setting up equipment. I "borrowed" these photo's from Simon because I wanted everybody to note the rubber mats that Knie has laid down for the horses to walk from the stable to the performance tent. That kind of care, and expense is a Knie family trademark , which has kept them one of the greatest animal circus's in the world. And no Logan it is not the norm, it is the exception, and a salute to Fredy Knie, and the Knie family.
