I heard the best way to get a horse to bow, is to lay up on it's neck/shoulders and let the riders weight force it down on one knee. Is that true?

A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, I think that you are putting us on. Everone knows that I know very little about horses, but that doesn't seem right to me. LOL

That in this photo is absolutely, positively, in every manner the worst attempt to make a horse bow. It is so bad that there is no crtiszem that could be used in any manner.
Col. Herriott,
That's kinda what I thought, but I wanted to run it by you first. I think if she wanted to make it a "little" worse, she could move her right leg up closer to the spin, and maybe hook a spur in the pad. LOL
