A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

How is Mark doing? I spoke with Sigrid a couple of years ago via email, but I haven't heard anything regarding Mark in some time. Does he have any plans on returning to Ringling--I miss his tiger and liberty act.

Chris,
Read the thread about salaries. No plans what so ever. And it's a shame as he would have been an asset to the profession, regardless of the fact he had some of the biggest boot's in the history of circus animal training to fill.

The tiger on Marks right has the look of a "guilty conscious". I wonder what he had done,,,,lol
Casey,
I think what he had done was point out to Mark that in Vienna only the mare's are trained to pull carriages, and the stallions like his fathers aren't. I think Mark snatched him with the chain, and pointed out that they were not in Vienna. LOL

Mark was badly "burned" by the San Jose criminal case. There were no legitimate grounds for the criminal charges, but they certainly grabbed a lot of headlines. I imagine that the idea of walking around with that kind of high profile target on his back and every IDA activista in California taping your every breath made the allure of the business a lot less appealing. He had options, so why suffer through that....
Ben,
I think "burned" is to mild, "incinerated" would be more appropriate.
