Axel Gautier

This is a wonderful picture of Axel, going through the pre show ritual of all elephant trainers referred to as "crapping out." I mentioned Axel's love of performing and being in the ring. When you enlarge this you will see that he is whistling. Show time was only minutes away. In his excitement to do his thing, Axel released tension by whistling. I released tension by pacing. I mentioned earlier that for those 4 years the tigers were kept in the elephant tent, of close by if we were stabled in the building. I think the photo above is at Madison Square Garden The animal men used to say, "He is driving us crazy with that whistling, but we can't go down to the other end of the stable, or Wade will run into us and knock us down. LOL Back in the day, when it was the Greatest Show on Earth, performing on Ringling Bros., was like playing in the Super Bowl 7 day's a week, and the Academy Awards 7 nights a week. Monte Carlo has no idea what "center stage" really is.

Marco,
As he was an impressive man. And no, he is not a European Trainer, he was an American Trainer. LOL

Wade, it's about personalities not nationalities. Right? ;-)

Marco,
What you achieve, not where you were born, or to whom.
