A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

What a shame they are not still used in that capacity as wonderful domestic beasts of burden, just like oxen, horses of all breeds, camels, etc. Nobody has explained to me as yet why they are not used.
John,
I think it is because they built machines that are more profitable, and efficient. Kinda the same reason why there are not that many horse and buggy's any more. And The Arabs found they could get from point A to point B faster with a Datsun, and could load more in the box then they could on a camel.
I have missed you, Col. I hope all is well, and you are in good health.
Wade
