A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Am I seeing things, or does she have a gun strapped to her hip.?..
Wade, I have never seen a performing cheetah before. However, on second look, I am starting to think that it is not a cheetah, but a leopard x cheetah cross. The tail says cheetah, but the hindquarter rosettes say leopard. The face, especially with the lack of distinctive cheetah tear stripes, says leopard. And the body type, not long and lean and muscular like a cheetah's, says leopard.

Margaret,
Not unless she is Clyde Beatty you are not seeing a gun. That's the "cruel" American Style that you have been spoon fed by self serving, trying to justify paper hangers. Until some ass pointed it out on the "history channel." This is Europe, so it is the "gentle" European Style.

Mary Ann,
And you shouldn't see one. They don't do much and they have them in zoo's.

No,that's a gun....I haven't been spoon feed anything..That's for townies..LOL..I always think of the scene in the movie about Gypsy Rose Lee..in the dressing room with Natalie Woods, where Miss Electra is singing about..You gotta get a gimmick....
Margaret,
B*** S*** townies. Over three quarters of of the industry, quotes it as gospel.

Doesn't look like a cheetah to me.
It's a leopard - not a cheetah.
She is Marisza Zapashnaya, Moscow. Sister of the most famous Zapachny broters: Walter (liona) and Miecslav (elepants+tigers).
She used to have a large act with a dozen of black panthers in the 90s.
Raffaele,
If you had access to any pictures they would be appreciated.
