A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Lovely little guys. I used to breed and keep them. Common, Silver and Pygmy Marmosets? Also some sort of Tamarin I think? Maybe S.midas? Adult females usually give birth to a set of twins every 5 months, with the father acting as midwife. When there are triplets you have to pull one and hand-raise it with 1 drop of milk formula every hour, 24 hours a day for the first week or so. I always wanted some Goeldi's .... they look like little gorillas ;-)
Jim,
Thank you. I was hoping someone more learned on these delightful creatures, might identify some of them for us. How often are there triplets born? Odd that a primate, would have the capability of producing "litters." Boy, they are much more labor intensive then raising feline cubs, that's for sure.
