A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade,
Don't know exactly what the yellow tangs (correct if I am wrong) are doing with the sea turtle, but the birds and antelope is an example of mutual symbiosis. The birds are eating the bacteria and bugs on the antelope and the antelope is being cleaned. In the words of Louis Armstrong, "What a wonderful world"

Amy,
The Tangs are doing the same thing, only they are eating algae.

Wade,
I had a feeling this was the case. I learned aboumutual symbiosis in my Northwest Ecology class, but I can't seem to remember the example we used.
