If this exhibit was your friends circus or a friend of a friend's act, and they asked you how it compared to the Zurich Zoos exhibit, would you honestly tell them what it was or would you let them think they had something special? Why do we keep asking, "what happened to the quality of acts," when we tell them what they want to hear?

Wade, you are absolutely correct. This exhibit, and every other snow leopard exhibit that I have ever seen, can in no way compare to the one in Zurich. It really is an injustice to everyone to tell a performer or an exhibitor what they want to hear. It degrades the quality and lowers the standard, and in the end no one wins.

I agree with you and Mary Ann but,I believe there are few that can handle criticism. I would guess to say that the superior performers and exhibitors have taken criticism and learned to better themselves.
Jody,
Criticism is the most valuable thing in the world, if you don't take it personal. It makes you reevaluate and look at your performance through eyes other then your own. If you continuously critique yourself, it is unpleasant. But I have always felt personal happiness, is not what a performance is about. It is about the people watching said performance. Their happiness is what is of paramount importance.

Was this snow leopard exhibit originally the giant panda exhibit several years ago? I think they have the pandas for a year when "renting" pandas was OK with AZA.
Jim,
Thank you. I wasn't sure if it was the same exhibit, or if they had just hauled the rocks to a new location. You are so right, that "Animal 0 the Week" protocol zoo's had was a sad mistake. I had watched animal be relegated as "equipment" for so long, I frowned when they started it with the White Tigers.
