John, RJR, or Jim, do you know anymore about this place? It closed down over 10 years ago, and had quite a history. A George Carlin quote seems appropriate: "If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
The two photos above are of the original elephant house, which later had bars put over the roof and was used for Chimpanzees.

Baboon cages above. As the Boars Head Zoo, or what ever it was called in Nottingham, that we were discussing a few days ago was closed done in the mid 70's, I wonder why it took until the mid 90's to shutter this place? I suggest a reasonable person has to accept there is a need for animal welfare?
