I won't say anything about the costume. I'll let "Indiana Jones hat" Easley comment if he would like.

A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
I won't say anything about the costume. I'll let "Indiana Jones hat" Easley comment if he would like.

Wade, as you know we saw this act and greatly enjoyed it! I beg to differ with you, but I like this costume.
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
As the AR activist said to the actress wearing the fox coat, "It looked much better on it's original owner."
Wade
Wade, I think that it's fake fur, in which case it is OK. I will not wear real fur, or real diamonds for that matter, since mining them tears up lion habitat. I get infinitely more satisfaction out of wearing fake fur and cubic zirconias, and donating money to my favorite zoo.
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
It is fake fur. But he is still not the original owner.
Wade
Mary Ann,
I can appreciate and applaud that. I was sent a picture of 2 more people with tiger claw necklaces, but I can't post it as their faces are shone.
Wade
I don't like this costume at all. However I would bet all the diamonds in Africa I look better in it then the last guy who wore it....Just a fact,,,lol
Thanks Mary Ann
I was not aware my comment would be so anticipated. However I don't know that I should criticize, Casey is a braver man than I. Though the "Indiana Jones" hat might instill that sense of fear into the hearts of the wild beasts. lol
Ryan,
Oh come on!!! Man up. If you are going to run with the big dog, you have to quite pissing like a pup.
Something like "instead of a vest,a leopard loin cloth might have been a better idea, to cover up those droopy drawers" would have been appropriate. Or if you really want to get out from under the porch, and play with the hound's, "at least it is better then that pink and red lingerie net deal that you borrowed from Natalie" would have been the way to go.
Now that I have weaned you off the puppy chow, I'll expect you to start biting off bigger chunks. Then we will change your name from Snooky to Thor. LOL
Wade
Yes Sir!
Casey,
If you dont like the costume then why wear it. The vest is a bit short and the lighting in this shot almost makes you look pantless. There is nothing wrong with faux fur, but dont you think it is in poor taste to wear it in a big cat act, just like serving seafood at seaworld?
Amy
I don't see any panty(brief) line..LOL..I told you before Casey, that they have no taste..
Amy,
This was a costume of another cat guy. I don't like it because, like you said, the vest is to short. As far as the faux fur thing, well I don't think it's poor taste, and I would love to savor shark steaks while at seaworld,,lol. As far as pantless, that explains women throwing their thongs into the ring after the act, lol,, I just thought the liked the cats....
Margret,
If you look really really really close, you could make it out. But you are rite, they have no taste.
Tom Jones Cainan,
I don't think empty soda and wadded up snow cone cups and popcorn boxes is what they are supposed to be throwing?
But he is right Amy. Fake fur don't give the wrong impression. The tiger claw necklaces do though. Animal prints are nice for the disco, nice if done a little on street clothes, and dynamite in the bedroom, but just cheesy in the ring.
Wade
The disco??..Are those still around?.LOL..
Margaret,
That's the point, it is getting so there is only one place appropriate for animal prints.
Wade
Wade,
Discos? Before my time, thankfully. LOL. As for the only place left for faux fur we now know your preference in lingere. LOL
Casey,
why not get a really nice costume made just for you and forget about the hand me downs. As for the shark steaks, Seaworld only has that on menu when one of the sharks has bit a customer.
Amy
Oh yah....We(women) go to the mall, spend $75.00 in Victoria Secret's for a sleek little leopard print number, and get to wear it all of about 5 minutes..What a deal..LOL..
Amy,
Though really, this is more of an explanation then the costume deserves. It was not hand me downed, as matter a fact I paid more then market value, as a favor to the owner (with the intention of never wearing it) because he could use the money. Then while he was here, I wore it a couple times (so as to seem like I was proud to own it) cause I truly am a "nice" guy. In the process the show photographer saw it and wanted to shoot some pics of me in it (I don't know why, but again,,,I am a nice guy) I have many costumes that are great, and I like (Mary Ann can attest to me looking at least decent in riding breeches) Though I have taken some critiquing with a grin, from Wade, I find it hard to accept wardrobe advice from a person who I am sure has never made a living trying to look good to a crowd. (Ryan, note I am soft playing this, if it were a big dog attack, I would have thrown in something about her body type and suggested she check for costumes at Lane Bryant or similar type retailer, but sometimes Ryan, it is better to be kind to others) So there we are the full explanation as to how the costume came to be, and why there is a picture of me wearing it, WOW I am glad we got this cleared up.
Casey,
the Lane Bryant thing is harsh, but I have heard remarks like that my whole life and I have learned to ignore it. Not everyone has the same taste as me, but you agreed on the shortness of the vest. The pants effect have to do with the lighting as I stated originally. Nothing I felt that I said was a low blow. As for not taking my opinions seriously, that is your choice, just remember that there are more people like me and they are the ones in the audience wondering why the vest didnt fit the trainer. This costume may have been worn for the benefit of another person, but I am sure he thought to himself that it looked better on him originally.
Amy
Okay you two, play nice..LOL..Amy, no more critiquing Casey's wardrobe, and Mr. Charm, no more chubby remarks..LOL..And Amy, as the saying goes..if you can't play with the big dogs, stay off the porch ( after all you started it.)...
Margaret,
I am trying I swear.
Amy,
I didn't feel anything was a "low blow" it was a discussion, about a costume. Please hold off on the "woe is me, I have been picked on my whole life" cause I would ask you....who hasn't been? As far as not caring about your opinion, well I may have the first time I heard it, but we are far past that now. And because, as I said before, I wore it for a show. I can accept that a couple people may have been standing behind the arena to catch that brief second during the hind leg walks were it seems short. But if you look close at the picture,,,,THERE ARE NO PEOPLE IN THE TENT CAUSE IT IS A PHOTO SHOOT!!!
Your quote
"Casey,
why not get a really nice costume made just for you and forget about the hand me downs"
doesn't offend me, but it is irritating. I get the feeling you have decided you have been "clued" in on the workings of circus, by you visits to this blog and showbiz daves. That is the difference between you and the rest of the "people like you" is I don't think they would assume it was a "hand me down", but rather think I "had a real nice costume made for me" and they would probably be checking out the tiger hopping to me closer then they checked out my ass. I am not in any way trying to belittle you or pick on you or tell you, you are fat. I thought I was giving an explanation about something to a rational person, turns out I may have been humming the National Anthem at the Special Olympics.
Wow, I went out of town for a few days and all the dogs are pissing on the porch and off. Wade, what kind of show are you running here? Chair in one hand, bullhook in the other and let's separate everyone here. lol
Casey,
I wish I was clued into the circus. I am speaking soley from a theater background of being in, working and seeing plays and musicals. As for any performances I look at it as a whole, technical, lighting, costuming, makeup and of course performance. I know very little about the circus industry and I know that. None of my comments were meant to offend and as for the hand me down remark, I was mistaken by your comment before that it was made for someone else and I apologize. I think Margaret is right and I will keep my opinion to myself on your wardrobe choices from now on. I would, however, like to see one of your favorite costumes since I have never seen your show and have only seen the ones you do not like.
