I get daily anonymous comments telling me I am a jerk because I am always touting the great liberty/exotic acts in Europe. I don't think I tout all of them in Europe. Just Knie, Casartelli, Krone and one or two others. But I was sent this you tube of an American Exotic act so I will stand corrected. You will note me staying away from the title Circus, as I don't want to give people the wrong impression. Note that it looks as if they have fed the blanket to the camel. Also watch Sheik Hamid "paw" the lovely Bertha out of his way, so that she has to seek the assistance of the head trainer, Billy Joe Hatfield. Note at the end when she asks Sheik Hamid to "come here" and he say's "screw you, I am going to lay down here". Bertha wisely says, "fine, that's what I meant when I said, "come here." She then used the butt of her whip to get Sheik Hamid's lead, so that they don't do a leg carry for the finale of the act like they did the other day.

Pretty embarrasing and about as bad as it can get. I believe I know what show it is. I am surprised you would put that crap on the blog. I am embassased as I assume it is from an American circus.
Johnny,
That's the point. Some things shouldn't be called circus and animal training. But if they are our Pal's we let it go on and it has destroyed the industry. Look away, avoid, pretend it is not. That doesn't make it go away. A lot of things, on the "history channel" have been a lot more embarrassing. This is grass root's mud show, part of the American Circus scene.

Johnny,
By the way, if you are not sure what show it is, it is The Lewis and Clark circus.

Anonymous,
I am surprised. I would have expected you to have pride in your name. You know the anonymous ruling here. We know she is your aunt, and we love her too. That is not the issue. The issue is what the American public is seeing as an example of American Circus Animal Training. And it is not healthy or good for an industry already crippled by animal rights issues.
I didn't understand this statement. "Any Herriott act wouldn't match up to my families act." Which acts of the Herriott family were you referencing. Their's are quite extensive, and maybe Johnny Herrriott as some thoughts on which ones you were referencing. It is not about families, it is about an industry that needs to be represented in a professional manner. It is an industry that also belongs to any new "towners" hoping to make a life's career.
