There is nothing beautiful about this!!!!!

I made reference yesterday, in regards to an animal being "cooked". Another way of describing it is "their brain is fried". This is an example of what I was referring to, for anyone that did not understand the term. Compare this poor animals piaffe to the piaffe Steffen Peters executes at the Night of the Horse 2008. Hopefully folks will learn to recognize what is harmful and demand only proper training in their paid for performance.

Wade,
Glad to see you are enjoying these. Isn't it amazing how much we can learn just from watching. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!

This is common place in the Charro presentations and it is very sad indeed. This video is rather toned down as most scrammble wildly in order to avoid the abuse, sweat pouring off their shoulders. To this Wade can atest as he saw the very pretty Andalusian 4 year old that was tortured before I received him. The owner sensed something was wrong but alas it was too late for fixing but was able to give the horse a chance at normal riding.

I have seen a few really good Charro riders/trainers but they are few and far between and lack the knowledge except that was passed down to them.

Dianne,
I saw a stallion last year at a Mexican Fiesta, forced to do this in front of a live Mariachi bank for 5 songs with no stopping. At the start of the 3rd song, I started out to jerk the "Charro" of the poor animals back, and if two companions had not grabbed me by the arms and held me back, you would have been seeing me on one of those documentary's about Americans in a foreign jail. Such a beautiful animal and the fear in his eyes made you sick to your stomach, and the public loved it.

Jody,
There is so much that can be learned from watching with an open mind. If circus acts were studied that way, the public may have insisted on a better product long before, the just got tired of it and walked away.

This is a conversation that folks are having with me on my blog. The videos are a good tool to helping people learn what to look for.

By the way if you need bail from Mexico, call me.

Adaline,
It is kinda like faith, people are not going to believe anything unless they want to. If it is their friend or family doing it they see nothing wrong. People have been looking at terrible examples of inadequate animal presentations for the last 15 years in the circus, and can't see it sitting right there with it illuminated in full spotlights.
