Show owned animals that have been knocked about in a dozen different acts, by a dozen different people. Look close at them

Alright Wade,
I don't know sh** about cats but I will try to figure out what you are trying to teach here...
To me they don't look like they are showing much or any personality and/or attention. Just going through the motions in a glazed sort of way. They don't drug cats do they?

Jody,
You don't need to know cats, anymore then you need to know horses if you have just worked with cats. All, and I mean ALL animals are the same. No, they do not drug cats, but how many horses have you seen jerked around by unqualified people for most of their life. Lets use most rent a horse take a trail ride horses. Some will rebel at some point in their life, but most regardless of the species will just resign, and do it just to get it over with. If you can see that "look" of resignation on a horse, you should also see it on a tiger, an elephant, a dog, etc. It is revered as "kind and gentle" to most unknowledgeable people. Observe them sitting on their seats. If they are laying down, or have their eyes closed and heads down, they are cooked, fried, and are mentally escaping from where they are at. Disinterest is the same emotional behavior. You will see it in show horses, who are not taken out of the show arena, and ridden in the trees just for a change of scenery, but instead drilled, drilled, and drilled. Physically they are terrible put together tigers also.

Wade,
Sooooooooooo,
for my first cat lesson I didn't do half bad...

I did say they didn't look like they were showing any personality and going through the motions in a glazed way, or like you say rental trail riding horses...

Come On...Don't I get a pat on the back for that one? LOL

Interesting to hear they don't drug cats. Does it work the reverse? I'm sure someone/somewhere in the past has tried it.

I am guessing on this but I would think it would be easier to read cats than elephants. Yes? No?

Jody,
You would have scored higher if you had noted the physical deficiencies, but that like horses or any other animal comes with experience and understanding. Mentally they are all pretty much the same, and react similar to their surroundings.

Jody,
Have you ever doped a wired horse to clip his ears? If you have as calm as he seems, I suggest it may be difficult to ride him.

If they did more drug testing back a few years you would have found the majority of WINNING reining horses would have come up positive. Especially it takes the edge off a 3yr old at the futurity...That's why I got out of it...Got frustrating to try to beat it and I didn't care to join that club.

Jody,
I don't know if that has ever been documented, or just speculated on. You can't believe the reasons I was told over the years that the Baumans and the Gebels, etc. had superior animal acts. It has been widely suggested that if I had not been in one place training every day, I could not have created the tiger corbette, 3 hind leg walks, and the circle leapfrog. Note the video of somebody in one place, with no traveling I have posted. I promise I could be given the best, most modern airplane and I couldn't get it off the ground, where as a pilot wouldn't have a problem.
If something illegal was done long ago, and changed kudo's to them. Observe the direction my profession has taken in the last 15 years. It's what happens when there is no standard, and each person does what they feel the public wants or what they are capable of.
I know of know drug that will take the edge off of a feline, yet still allow it to function normally.
