Margaret,
How serious of an injury can a person get from that little bear. I did notice he is biting right in the tendon area, but the person has on jeans.
Unfortunate that this person had to endure pain for these adorable pictures.

And speaking of museums (how's that for a lead-in/transition?)...
Yesterday, I was in New Haven, CT on business. By chance, I parked across the street from the Yale Peabody Museum. I hadn't been there since a sixth-grade elementary-school field trip. Back then, many years ago, we were greeted at the Peabody by Gargantua the Great. His remains had been donated to the museum by a former Yale student, John Ringling North. And, in those days, Gargantua was a featured exhibit.
So, after all these years, I went back into the Peabody yesterday. I couldn't find Gargantua. But I did find two old museum employees and asked about Gargantua, once billed as the most terrifying creature in the world.
"Yes, the Peobody still owns Gargantua," said one employee. "We love him. The Peobody would never sell Gargantua."
"But he's no longer on exhibit," said the other. "Garganuta is all packed up in a crate and in storage."
Gargantua the Great: safe, but unseen.
Looking around, I got the idea that Gargantua has been supplanted by the Jurassic age.

Amy, I believe this was meant as a joke....
Todd,
Interesting story, but I think Gargantua is on display at the Feld Corporate headquarters in Vienna, Va.
Or is it Gargantua II? We will just have to hope Richard Reynolds gets here to clear it up for us.

Could be that Gargantua was moved to D.C. or Virginia.
What I saw as a kid at the Peabody was Gargantua's skeleton. It was enclosed in a large glass display case.
Gargantua died on the last day of the 1949 season in Miami.
I checked several old circus books tonight: they confirm JRN sent Gargantua's skeleton to the Peobody. --- ToddP
