A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade,
Please don't tell me they sang the YMCA!

What show is this btw?
Amy,
It is not a show, it is a shame. They already groveled for acceptance, so I don't think there was a need to sing for their supper also. This embarrassment was a one time "special" deal, and was in Europe. But please don't think it is indicative of Europe. Most shows over there have a lot more class then this.
Wade
Wade,
After translating the poster I could tell it was a benefit for one night in Frankfurt. My guess it was aimed to be over the top based on the title. However even the audience this show is aimed at might find it offensive to their tastes.

Amy,
Doesn't matter what it was aimed at. There is a certain thing called pride in a profession. I thought we were skilled artists not vaudeville monkeys. As worthy of a cause as it may be, I'll bet you can come up with a thousand more that are more deserving, and would not require a performer to be disrespectful of their craft and costume.
Wade
Wade,
I agree whole heartedly. They aimed for their audience, but completely missed the mark, especially on taste. The costumes are tacky and the acts as I can see are cheesy. I am sure they could have come up with something better than a man tied to maniquins doing the YMCA or Macho Man.

All they needed to top this off was a dip tank..LOL..
