On the Weltweihnacts Circus website they described Alfredo Beautour as "the gentleman of the cage". They went on to say that he is an animal friendly trainer controlling his animals with only his voice.
Henry Pendorff(of world wide vigil for the Lion King fame) gets a little excited sometimes and found this quote on a Circus Festival site. I'm wondering if that is a microphone in Alfredo Beautours hand, so the animals can hear his voice over the orchestra? Don't forget the Russian sensation Bagbodi who used no whips and only a stick? As nobody guessed which of the women trainers from yesterday were noted for their gentle methods and affectionate/loving style, I will give you a hint. It is the one with the biggest stick. As long as there have not been many thoughts on the self serving paper thread, I will express my thoughts, and maybe generate some interest.

Hi Wade: What about Professor George Keller? I never saw his act, but he supposedly entered the cage wearing only white gloves that he used to cue his mixed cat act and did not have whips, clubs or sticks of any kind in the cage. Maybe some of your bloggers actually saw the act and can comment...

Neil,
Stay tuned. I will do you one better. I will post something later this evening, and you look at them and decide, what is gentle, where does it come from, and how is it achieved, and is it worth it. I would love the world to understand animals as much as "most" of people who work with them, insted of excuses, patches, and self serving paper. Maybe before it is too late they will demand something based on knowledge.
Wade
"...wearing only white gloves?" Now that would be interesting. And we thought the gay circus was far out, but a nude one? LOL
