Vintage London Zoo--1920

'Who's been climbing up my tree?' said the little sun bear at the London Zoo, and he could scarcely believe his eyes when he saw the big black bear proudly scated on the top. Without more ado, the little sun bear literally ran up the trunk, engaged his big mother in a tussle, and after pulling him down, claimed the position on his very own. How's this for "cutting edge husbandry practices, and accurate zoological descriptions.

Hello Wade,
I have been thinking about builiding a pro-animal website for the circus industry for some time now. I think one is crucial if we are going to win this battle. From my experience most circus protestors get their information from PETA's infamous circuses.com so if we had something to rival that site where people could get information for the studies done on circus animals and see photos and videos of circus animals interacting with their trainers the tides might start to change. I am willingy to donate the money and time for the project but I will need and want help from others within the industry. What are your thoughts? You can contact me at contort08@yahoo.com if you'd like

Take care,
Logan

Logan,
We already have many Pro-animal websites. They are called the Circus Fans of America, OABA, Buckles Blog, Sawdust Trails, etc. etc. From my experience most circus defenders get their information from CFA's infamous www.circusfans.org. We have a boatload that rival circuses.com. With just as much false self serving information. "Trainer and training" is going to be real hard to define, and the few studies that have been done with "trainers interacting with circus animals" have not been "valid scientific studies" but rather PR campaigns. It one, just one "valid scientific study" were done, I fear everybody would start "patching", instead of intelligently, factually addressing what the study found, and we would be, right back in the same boat. First define training and trainer. Is it doing a one foot stand with a female elephant, or loading a zebra into a trailer? Is it doing a one foot stand with 2 male and 3 female elephants, or leading a camel and zebra into the ring. Is Shamsheeva a cat trainer or was Charly Baumann?
Regards,
Wade
