A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade - are these horses wearing boots to work on this surface?
Serious question Wade. On my computer I can't make out any rubber "boots" on the hoofs. But the surface looks so slippery that I reckon that they would have to have some hoof wear. What do you think?
Or have you retired into your bunker awaiting an onslaught from John and me? LOL
Steve,
I am thinking the surface must be some type of illusion. I posted another picture from this show(the best 0 the best circus festival in Romania) and it had the same slick look. It has to be, because there is no way anything could work on that. When I saw a show in that building a couple of years ago, it was the standard specially prepared sawdust. Possibly Laszlo knows or could find out.
Wade
