A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Western German Probst. Her father owns the show.
John.
To be expected when working without harness, checks, etc. They are all over the place.
Col.,
You know I am in your corner on this one. I have yet to see an unharness liberty act work nice and spectacular. A harnessed beautiful liberty act is like watching West Point Cadets in parade formation. Watching an unharnessed beautiful liberty act is like watching a high school marching band. Turn them loose in a large arena, and hum "Born Free" and pretend it is your "Friend Flicka" is fine, a thing of beauty. Bridle less/bareback reining demonstrations, are just that, demonstrations. Everybody applauds, and then gets tacked up and rides against a standard for Champion, Reserve Champion, and close but no cigar. As we have a term called "horsemen/horsewomen", and "horse whisperers/clinicians," I think we should also have the term "horse pretenders/players."

Johnny,
In regards to this photo, I also suggest just because you are a member of the "golden sperm club" and I assume can do no wrong, might be why you have a job in the first place. Just a thought, historically speaking.
