A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Bactrian camels must be cheap in Europe - every circus big or small seems to have a half dozen. Over here, a white (or champagne, just to avoid THAT argument) Bactrian goes for around 25,000 dollars

Ian,
The Bactrian are more exotic looking, then Dromedary's. A good Bactrian with all the particulars is magnificent, but as we can see there is some junk there also. The "ride" factor is what makes them popular here. There are a lot of White Bactrians that are "whiter" then a lion will ever hope to be.
