Martin Lacey Jr. #1 (From Henry Penndorf)

This incident occurred the end of July. We addressed it admirably here, and it was addressed on the History Channel, with some censors. I had intended to forget about it, but I think it will illustrate how false papers can be hung by unqualified admirers. Least anybody try to read something else into this just reference my thoughts on young Martin on this blog and the History Channel. With no standard, you might begin to understand why this industry still has AR problems, and a recommendation from a friend might not speak to qualifications.

According to the Circus Fans Italia web site, wild animal trainer Martin Lacey, Jr. was slightly injured at the conclusion of his performance on Saturday night for Circus Krone, by a male lion named Kasanga. From what I read, I think it says that Martin Lacey was injured while feeding a piece of meat to Kasanga. Martin Lacey was taken to a nearby hospital for screening. Not sure what "screening" means.

The attached pictures of Martin Lacey, Jr. with a large male l! ion (Kasanga?) accompanied the posting.

The following is a computer generated translation of the article appeared on Circus Fans Italia...

"LIGHT ACCIDENT TO MARTIN LACEY JR.

Christoph Enzinger us about a pair of articles appeared in the German press to which in the course of a show yesterday of the Krone Circus in Germany, Martin Lacey was wounded in the face by his male lion Kasanga in steps final number.
<>While porgeva to the majestic lion a small piece of meat, was wounded in a cheek from a tooth of the great feline. According to the press office of the circus the number would have been carried out regularly to term by the young English ammaestratore subsequently screened at the nearby hospital.

Let us take this occasion in order to express to the great Martin, our estimated “King Lion” solidarity and closeness for what happened."
Hope all is well,

Henry

Henry,
Wow!! That is some heavy duty paper. Are you hiring out your services or are you a private firm.
I to wish Martin Jr. the best, for a speedy recovery. There are a few of us who can honesty say, "we know how it feels" Best wishes,

This is one censor:
Addendum to Henry,
I accepted that after 27 years GGW was the "Lord of the Rings" but as much as I respect and like Martin Jr. after 10 years, I am not quite ready to make him the esteemed "Lion King" just yet. I am going to let Wolfgang Holtzmeir have that earned title a bit longer. My son, who I am very proud, of who took over his first act and made the first date in 5 weeks, something I have seen "qualified" people do in 6 months, has done an incredible job, but I am going to wait a few years, before I call him the "Tiger Prince". If you had been qualified enough to give the title "Lion King", you would have known that Martin Jr. has 2 male lions, Kasanga and King Tonga. Kasanga, if you had really watched the act, is the normal colored one and the only male lion in the act. He does the Kiss 0 death behavior where this accident occurred. "Screening" means it is not serious, and you are just getting loaded with antibiotics.

As far I know, what happened is that Martin tripped slightly while feeding the lion, and the teeth entered into his face.He finished the act, then was taken to the hospital. The following day Krone didn't displayed the cage act, but it doesn't seem a seriuos accident.

A week later today, an Anonymous apparently was upset at the comments, so we can only guess that it was at the header statement or one of the two run comments. Let's see what they think of the censored one from last week, and the one that was censored today:
Anonymous,
Like a shaving cut there is a lot of blood, it goes with facial wounds.
LOL What horse is particular were you talking about(by the way, that expression gave away your nationality) We went from Mr. Penndorf's candle light vigil, to no big deal. Worldwide maybe a dozen were actually qualified to reach an opinion, so thank you for the conformation. You gotta love Circus History/fact checkers. By the way on Circusnospin, the conclusion was reached in ten minutes what and how serious it was. But then what do guy's like I know? By the way world renowned animal authorities Henry Pendorff and Peter Sturgis would disagree with you about the seriousness and whose fault it was. But then what do people like you know? LOL
Cheers,
Wade Burck

And now follow the posts on the History Channel to the latest incident, with "expert" commentary's. You might understand why Ian, who is judging an industry, not individuals, might be confused.
