I concur this would be a brilliant insightful discussion on what is real and what is illusion. Which is self serving and which serves the industry?

you are totally right in saying that "directly from America" can do a lifetime press, even for the worst flyer having been for a month in some obscure mud show. In fact, this can be a very interesting approach on the blogs for our Europe-Usa discussions.

There is a wonder mix of readers on the blog, Fans, Aficionados, Historians, Performers, Zoo Professionals, Performers who are now public, the Public who looks from outside, Knowledgeable Animal Trainers, and Animal Lovers. Let's have your take on false "self serving publicity" and "factual verifiable publicity" in the scheme of validation and appreciation of the Art/Craft.

It's all self serving, unless I said it about me or my friends, then it's "by god" a fact-o-life,lol

COME ON DON'T WEASEL OUT!!! This may address a valuable "why are they not coming any more" question for the Circus. Or maybe Mr. de Ritis and I are wrong. If that's the case tell us how/why we are wrong. If you leave it unaddressed there may be an assumption that we are correct, and I am hoping to break the tradition of burying the head in the sand. I would like this thing of ours to be fixed. By 10:30 central time today there were 27 return visits to CircusNoSpin from around the United States, and 17 return visits from Europe. Specifically 2 from different locations in Germany, 2 from different locations in the Netherlands, 2 from different locations in South Africa, 3 from different locations in England, 2 Italy and 2 Spains and one each from Canada, Australia, Romania, and Norway.
A pretty good USA/Europe cross section, yet only one thought on the question.
Go figure. Did we stumble on another one of those "skeleton in the closet deals"? I have to really wonder if it was Animal Rights who did the most damage?

Well of course it is not AR that has killed the Circus. It would be hard to beleive it did that much damage to us, and yet there are fairs that figure AR into their advertising budget, because it will bring some free publicity. Any one doubting that, ask yourselves how there could still be high diving mules working. No I am fairly certain the brotherhood club of showguys and gals has done us in. They protected their friends no matter what they did. And tried their hardest to keep anyone else from "sneaking" into this deal, and really doing something. Not realizing that the next guy to sneak in might get people to love this thing again. As it sits, I doubt most people even realize it still exists.
