For Henry Edgar

I like Henry Edgar, and many others miss the day's of Irvin Felds costume standards, and lavish production numbers dating back to the 50's, 60's, and 70's. The upside is all is not lost, the downside is you have to go to Germany and Cirque Krone to have an idea of what it used to be in America.

ringling in the north and feld eras always had spectacular costumes, designed and created by the best in the entertainment world. ringling production numbers were always in a class by themselves but as recently as the 60s beatty-cole and mills had a group of showgirls that johnny pugh's father sent over from england. barbette continued to give polack and other shows showgirls after leaving ringling. the costumes may not have been as spectacular but they weren't embarassing. the last time i saw cole, they still had productions with beautiful girls and beautiful costumes. but nobody today is giving us what feld and north gave us. it looks like krone continues to create real production numbers. i wish germany was a little closer to virginia.
