A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

This was my second Friesian nicknamed "Hook", a half brother to my first Friesian Night Magic. Rex helped me train him as a liberty horse (turned loose in a big riding arena not a 40 ft circle) and he did it great. The problem was he was a 17 hand stallion and when I called him and he thundered up to me it was always a stand off who was going to give ground. He was a better liberty horse than a riding horse because he was so heavy and big. A few years later Keanu Reeves sister bought him and we trained him further but he never had the "go" juice or coordination need for a dancing horse. He was absolutely gorgeous and had a mane and tail unbelievably long. After I released him him show career ended.
Dianne,
I swear to God when I first saw this picture I thought it was Knighty. I kept looking at the head set and the plaited mane, thinking I bet that's what Knighty looked like in his younger days. Strange. I had no idea this was one of yours. I guess you "stamp" them like a herd sire supreme. LOL

Dianne,
Awesome picture......
Dianne,
I am sorry. In my excitement that this was one of your horses, I misnamed. Arno is the horse that is the half brother to Hook. And for readers, Arno was the horse posted earlier in the movie Last Action Hero.
