Just my thoughts, Shenka looks in real bad shape. He appears to be bulling, or in musth characterized by a thick, tar-like secretion called temporin from the temporal ducts. During this condition they will often go "off their food" and not eat as much, and Mahouts in India are often able to greatly shorten the duration of their elephants musth by tying the bull to two extremely strong trees, and keeping him on a starvation diet until the musth ends. Assuming he has "like a member of the family", and "like their child", I am not suggesting anything. I just don't think he should have been on public view as "Circus", and should have possibly been kept someplace else. The public does not understand a lot of things, but I promise you in the United States this would have been a big problem, and would wreck havoc on the whole industry.
