The Curator gave me these guy's 4 years ago, when they were the size of a quarter, with the request, "here see if you can keep this alive." I delivered them to him a month ago, so he can make them famous in Show Business. That's Romulous on your right, and Remus on your left.
Now it is up to Adam and them to compete for stardom and headlines.

On my screen is looks like a two-headed turtle.........
I better get my eyes checked.
Jody,
Two headed turtles are more common. This was a "Siamese" turtle, before that term became politically incorrect. Now it is called a co-joined turtle. They are joined at the hip, and share one stomach. I learned that early on when Remus wouldn't eat and I would start to panic. Both heads can eat, but often times Remus, the beta brother would go for a month without eating, and Romulous the alpha brother, would do all the eating. They can not dive like a normal turtle, because they can never decide to do it at the same time. One fights for the surface while one struggles to dive, and they give it up, and just swim on the surface, one fighting for left and one fighting for right because of the angle in which the shell's fused. They eventually came to a "compromise", in which Remus get's pulled along passively, and Romulous decides which way "they" want to go. They became conditioned to me "rattling" their pellet can, and I miss not having them "flop" off their rock and swim to greet me in the morning for breakfast.

Wade,
I tried to find other pictures on the co-joined turtle. Only one I found was on:

It didn't look like yours.
Jody,
Rom and Rem are not the only ones in the world. Just the best ones. In horsey terms, Bask and Aladdin.

Wade, Joe and I enjoyed seeing these guys not very long ago. I didn't know that they are no longer with you.
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
I was only "farming" them for the Curator, until their break in show business came. Co-joined turtles, like women are tough to let go, unless you remember that the next one is the best one. LOL
