A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Johnny, this is a breakdown from the Cassartelli Family which you commented were lovely and well trained. Looks exactly like the breakdown you gave a 5 out of 10. Does this mean Casartelli's don't dot the I's and cross the T's? Maybe it's because all horses do tricks differently.
Dianne,
And I would assume they could go deeper unmounted. They also were on that "not necessary" dirt/sawdust mix of flooring. But because there is no standard. It's opinion which is often influenced by whether you are pissed off or not, or if they are "cute and charming" with a great public relations dept. And that "standard" has been more harmful to the animal acts in the circus, than any animal activist.

Diane, you are right in that harses do various things different. Also I suspect the horse is still in the process of going down, as the trainers whip is still under the horse, suggesting a "cue". I would still like to hear of this families background. I had never heard of them and I do try to keep track of the recognized people in the circus Equestrian Arts both here and abroad including some history as well.
