Leopard one of the first Arabians to arrive in the United States.

On May 31, 1879, there arrived in America two very fine stallions which were presented to Gen. U.S.Grant by the Sultan of Turkey. These stallions were Leopard and Linden Tree. It is generally acknowledged that Linden Tree was a Barb-Arabian while Leopard was a pure Arabian.
Leopard is the horse above, and also the horse in front in the photo below. It is an old photo and states, "General Grants Leopard living in the zoo." I could only find one account of him being given to a zoo with some other older horse's, but I can't find what zoo. I am hoping RJR or somebody else may be able to help, or have information of some Arabian horses being given to a zoo.

Wade - what has happened to this blog? Where is the circus stuff? For the last week just photos of lion's meat on the hoof and posts by aliens. I'm going to have to stay with Buckles! lol

Steve mate,
Look at the post of Aladdin. I said circus like 3 time's. What's the problem. I hoping the American Circus will realize what the European Circus has. That there are some great horses out there and "lions meat" is what they wrongly refer to as bloodstock in the circus world. I have noted that after a point was made about being an alien, they have gone invisible, with no picture.
Also, isn't it sad that Buckles Blog will not mention this Blog on his site. I have even gone on there to tell old friends the link to this site, and he won't post it. Won't even post my email anymore. As you see I could let all the anonymous and cute names through and make it "appear" that a lot are responding. I have kept track for the past 2 months, and if I let anonymous and cute names through there is 2/3 more responses on this site then his. On many day's taking away his anonymous/cute names the readership greater here. Stat counter shows how many come, read and don't leave a comment. Quite impressive. But as this is the Circusnospin, there is not a need for the self/pretend promotion. I sent Robert the link to the picture, I hope he gets it.

Even the "Ladies" tried to get a post thru with this blog mentioned on Sir Buckles Blog, it's the only one of "theirs" he didn't post. And Wade even you have to admit, those guys were a little strange....Now Steve mate, you have to understand that beneath the costumes and glitter, our Mr. Burck is just a ND cowboy at heart. He loves animals, at one time I remember a pit bull( Mrs. Naugatuck),a doberman( I hated that dog, once in Evansville he ate a 30 lb. FROZEN turkey off the counter,LOL),a cat that looked like Hitler, 4 birds, assorted fish, and three turtles, and a couple of lizard looking things. Now Wade will no doubt blame Adam, but the truth is all the pets were his....LOL....

Margaret,
I censer anywhere for 12 to 15 anonymous/cute names a day. And don't lie, it was a 20 lb. turkey he ate. No way could we have afforded a 30 pounder. Speaking of "my pets" Adam may get upset because you didn't mention Oscar the Grouch.

Wade,I wasn't lying,I was adding to the story, like you do when you speak of stuffing five pounds of garbage into a two pound sack....LOL....

Of course the doberman was in no way as bad as that dalmation that we had....Do you remember what he used to do?...LOL....

Margaret,
Then there is the opposite of embellishment, and that is down playing. An example would be saying a 4 inch longer second toe is only a half inch longer.

Margaret,
Caesar(was that his name) was just an animal who "misinterpreted" what he was being taught to him, and did something wrong thinking it was what you wanted.
Could not house train him. He made me so nut's I used to throw him and kick at him when I came in. In a short time, he started getting up on the table to crap, thinking he was supposed to be air borne to relieve himself and that's what I wanted. Stupid, stupid, idiot.

Steve,
If she wanted to travel again, The Curator Jim Z could use the toes in his side show. Swear to God.

Jody, we have a perfect relationship, Wade lives in Richmond, and I live in Oregon....And Wade do you mean that dog had a name other than You Fu^&#@g BAS&$@*? All these years I thought that was his name, LOL....And Steve, it seems that my toes have reached LEGEND status, my mother always told me they meant I was highly intelligent, which may account for Wade's lack of it....

Isn't it nice when you can look back and remember the good ole days...

Okay Margaret, I'll shut up....
