Not knowing much about horses......
Why is this one walking with his mouth open? Is he overly aggressive?

Casey,
You didn't really think Cass Ole was fighting in the Black Stallion movie, did you? He is not being overly aggressive, he is play fighting. It is a personality trait that is one of many thing's that make an Arabian special.
I worked with a 12 year old ex English show horse named Baskin Robbins who was used as a sire. I used to turn him lose in the ring and shuffle my feet at him, and he would wheel, and run right at me with his teeth bared and rear and walk backward, and then run away. When I ran and him and yelled "Baskin" and stomped my foot he would wheel and come at me again and again with his mouth open and teeth bared. The real exuberant ones make a high pitched squeal, that is worse then fingernails on a blackboard. You have to duck fast, and jump quick because the goofs will try to kick your head off or bite your shins. They just don't accept that you can't take a beating like the colt's they were sparing with earlier. After 4 or 5 charges, I would say, "quite" and Baskin would stand by me with my arm over his withers and his muzzle in my hand, as I told the people, "that is how easy it is to portray a wild, crazed fighting stallion in the movies. Give an Arabian pride and dignity, and they will give you fire. Half Arabs have it, three quarter Arabs have it a little bit, but if the blood gets further away then that, they don't have the same "play aggression" behavior trait. Show a "good, well bred" Arabian something one day, and by the second day he understands what you want, and by the third day he will show you a better way to do it. Stay out of his way, and let him show you because usually they are right. And it is not exclusive to stallions. Dianne has a gelding that would probably use the pickup if she didn't take the keys out and lock it.
