On buckles blog were a number of how valid is a circus awards festival "debates" shortly after this years Monte Carlo Festival. People learned a lot they didn't know, as did I and when I mentioned that participation awards were given just for showing up, a former "participant" informed me in no uncertain terms that in addition to being jealous, I was grossly mistaken. I apologize and I stand corrected. I have been accused of being against the greatness of circus and I think what I am against is the illusion of greatness.

Is there anyone at the "festival" that doesn't either give or receive an award? The cheek kisses must wear these people out by the end of it all. More like a big circus orgy then a competition.

Who does one talk to about getting the (Casey McCoy "You got the rite packaging on that body" Award) to be entered? This of course would be an award only to be won by female contestants, I know it's not fair....But what the F%$# does fair have to do with any of this horse S&%$?

You don't know what's true or not from a circus awards festival, but for what it is worth, when I was there I was told Chap-stick was the top selling concession item. Apparently out grossed scarves twenty to one, and light sabres ten to one. About equal gross compared to popcorn sales.

I didn't write it, just pulled it of the official site. I just assumed somebody cultured and skilled in the Arts must have got confused with the "creative costume" in the other act, and as they were busy unpacking gold and silver clowns for the Gala, and didn't have time to waste, they just wrote tightwire walkers, because they weren't sure what either of them did.
Their job is to give awards, not decide who does what.
