A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, are these three snow whites and a striped white?

Mary Ann,
It is hard to tell, but I know one is a Tabby. He bought a number of "colored" tigers from Josip which Josip trained for them. He was one of first to have the "colored" ones in Europe. Gerd Semonit had a white act a few years earlier I believe, but I don't know if he had any "snow whites" In reference to forgiving your ignorance, as Joe apparently has, it is the least I can do. LOL
Wade
Wade, I forgive a lot of his and yours also. LOL
Mary Ann
One of the is a striped white her name is Sheba and she was in a act with Freddy Knie in 1999, 2 of the are golden tabby's : Sumina and Delhi, and the last one is Tibet the snowwhite tiger. And the tigers are not bought from Josip Marcan! Flavio Togni first had an act with tigers from Josip Marcan and in 2000 he bought an act with Colored tigers from Freddy Knie. In 2003 he makes his own act with some babies of the marcan tigers and Sheba from Freddy Knie!
Anonymous,
I have posted you as you seemed to have good information, and I was not sure if you were one of our European friends who occasionally forgets to add their name.
We don't allow anonymous posting here, and we need to know your name. It keeps people from saying something harmful and hiding behind an anonymous name. If you have the courage to say it, you should have the courage to sign it. Please email me at wburck3@aol.com and introduce yourself. If you want to post something that may affect your job or livelihood an exception will be made as long as I know who you are. I will look forward to hearing from you.
The point is the original tigers came from Marcan, and going back further came from Hawthorn, so when you hear people who didn't know what they were doing, talk about the inbred crazy Hawthorn tigers in Europe, make sure you point out the majority of the foundation animals are from Hawthorn.
Regards,
Wade Burck
