Wade, although the Arctic Ring of Life is a huge success, it is my opinion that the same cannot be said of the Chimps of Harambee exhibit, opened in 1989. Jane Goodall was even present for the ground-breaking in 1989, and it was supposed to be a really big deal. However, it is my opinion that Jungle Trails at Cincinnati is much nicer. Jungle Trails was the AZA exhibit award winner in 1994.

Mary Ann,
Every person with a nice small private zoo, when the ask me if they should get a leopard, tiger, lion, etc. is stunned when I tell them, "get rid of all your carnivores, bears etc., and don't even consider exhibiting them. A walk through aviary with great landscaping and a a couple of dozen fancy pigeons will be more popular, interactive, and well received then anything sleeping on a bench, in a cage. Leave those for the pros in big city zoos.
