And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Wade, although the Arctic Ring of Life is a huge success, it is my opinion that the same cannot be said of the Chimps of Harambee exhibit, opened in 1989. Jane Goodall was even present for the ground-breaking in 1989, and it was supposed to be a really big deal. However, it is my opinion that Jungle Trails at Cincinnati is much nicer. Jungle Trails was the AZA exhibit award winner in 1994.

Every person with a nice small private zoo, when the ask me if they should get a leopard, tiger, lion, etc. is stunned when I tell them, "get rid of all your carnivores, bears etc., and don't even consider exhibiting them. A walk through aviary with great landscaping and a a couple of dozen fancy pigeons will be more popular, interactive, and well received then anything sleeping on a bench, in a cage. Leave those for the pros in big city zoos.
