The narrow curved tunnel/cage in the front of this picture, it is written that the keepers would put a fox in there on busy day's so the people could watch an animal move instead of just laying hidden on a bench. I'll bet the poor thing put on some miles, once it was surrounded by a hundred screaming, laughing children. They probably buried him at the end of the day, and used a new one the next. God Bless changing philosophies.
