Amerigo was 39% Crabbet and sired one of the most famous domestic bred Arabian's in the breed, who's name was Kemosabi.
Aramus was Wayne Newtons Naborr son, who became Mr. Newtons "lifetime" horse. When he died Wayne Newtons farm name was changed from Casa de Shenandoah to Aramus Arabians. A true "horseman" Tom McNair rode him to most of his championships.
This horse is Chutor Chazar who Bruce Howard, rode to the Scottsdale Park Championship in 1973

These 3 boy's were the ones who made me appreciate the breed, and go "my God, would you look at that."

Khemosabi was my favorite western pleasure horse of all times. I saw him win the Western Pleasure Nationals that year and I would have done anything to have ridden that horse.
Did you know that he picked up the wrong lead in front of 2 judges and still won. The crowd's reaction was so loud. It shocked everyone.

Khemosabi set the standard in his day for what a western pleasure horse was to be. WN Knight Rider redefined it a few years ago. Given the "politics" and the climate at the time, you would have been nut's to lay odds against Gene and Kemosabi. The Husband's were indeed lucky to have him.

Bruce Howard is a friend on mine, we competed with each other in the Arab world for years. I remember Chutor well, a huge grey stallion that Bruce rode in the Park Classes. Bruce always entered last and believe me we knew he was coming, the horse was in full attack stage entering the arena. We prayed Bruce stayed on because we would have been hamburger if he ever came off ... we made wide berths around this stallion. Because he was so excited it was hard to beat him when he worked. After the class you could see the girls walking him like a tame kitten on a lead rope quietly around the barns. I heard that he would attack Bruce but loved the girls.
