The photo above is of Aladdin in Sweden, and the photo below is of Aladdin after he arrived in the United States. A knock on this great horse is that he had a tendency to take "to the air" when ever he didn't want to go forward or balked. Unfortunately because of his early career as a liberty horse, he had been taught to rear. Rearing is the worst thing you can teach a horse that you intend on riding. The will use it as an escape to get way from collection and going forward. Buggers will also usually rehearse the damn behavior in the wash rack. You must be very careful in teaching a rear, and do it with a minimum of stress and confusion to the horse.

I had heard he was somewhat of a handful. I never felt like they promoted him as much as they did Bask but he surely did prove himself.

They owed their efforts to the more powerful Bask syndicate. He like many will be known as a "great horse from the Bask era."
