Vintage Woodland Park Zoo--Seattle, Washington

Ben, look at the goof on the left. I think they kicked him out of Seattle, and he went to New York and thought he would shag a Leopard with his windbreaker.

Wade, when I went to visit my daughter in Seattle in 1992, the Woodland Park Zoo had quite a few of the smaller cat species in a tunnel-like building. When Joe and I returned in 2001, there were some foxes and other small animals, but the cats were gone. We were told that the building was too loud and echoed too much for the cats, so most of them had gone to other zoos.

Mary Ann,
I have never heard of that. What type of species did they have prior in the building that would be affected by loud or echoed, that didn't affect foxes?

Woodland has changed incredibly, but the sunbears are still there. The gorilla habitat is quite nice, as you mentioned liking them, but there is always 100 people jampacked in front taking almost every joy out of it. A little less crowded and have entertained me every time I have been there are the Orangutans.
