A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

ALASKA, Anchorage: Friday, May 23, 2008 USA TODAY page 9A - Mentions the Alaska Zoo will receive two rare Amur Tigers within a month weigh about 500 pds each. Born 2004 at the Rosamond Zoo in Syracuse, NY.
DO,
Welcome. Thanks for the information. The Alaska Zoo was also home to a "famous" polar bear, named Binky who became somewhat of an icon for mauling people, who would jump the safety fence, for a closer shot of him. There was a famous photo, of Binky with a womens tennis shoe in his mouth that was marketed by the city of Anchorage. I believe it said,"Send another tourist, this one got away." Binky died in 1995.
Best wishes, and come back again.
Wade
