Blue lobsters are the result of a genetic mutation in which the inability to produce yellow and red pigment in the shell results in a partial albino. Approximately 1 in 50 million occur.

Wade-Thanks for this. I actually wondered whether those frogs at the San Diego Zoo were just unable to produce pigment which normally combined with yellow to make green. Which zoo did you work for in Florida?
