From PAWS: They are subjected to cruel training and controlled with the bullhook - a steel rod resembling a fireplace poker that is used to hook, jab, strike and "discipline" elephants. The very nature of the bullhook is to dominate through fear and violence.
Every one of these clips and the ones below show humans using some type of control on an animal, whether it be a whip, spur, stick, lariat, etc. etc. Yet it is "suggested" that nothing is needed to control, or "discipline"(if you want to play games with words) an elephant. What gives?

The Australian stock horse footage was good. Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi. Thanks for that.
Cheers

Glenn,
Yes, it was impressive. So too was the Andalusian working stock horse posted a few links back. Note at :44 the horse switching leads weaving a figure 8 through the flower baskets. He also rated his speed magnificently breaking from a canter to a gallop, back to a canter effortlessly. Folks just don't appreciate the athleticism of the animal, and the skill required to train stuff like that. The trend in horse's running loose just doesn't float my boat. Not near as impressive or hard to train as the Aussie and Andalusian stock horses. People tend to forget that 6 men used to drive a thousand head of cattle from Texas to Kansas, and farther with nothing but the sky and the horizon as a barrier to contain them, just in the course of their working day.
